PHLV Radio, a Las Vegas-based Filipino American streaming station led by TOFA honoree Johann Sayson, has been recognized at the 9th Amerika Prestige Awards for its contributions to community media.
The station, which streams 24/7, has built a following by combining music, public service programming and community engagement aimed at Filipino Americans. It is based in Las Vegas’ Filipinotown district.
PHLV Radio’s programming includes public service announcements, community talk shows and “Immigration Law On Your Side,” a legal information program co-hosted with immigration attorney Flomy Javier Diza. The program received the Best Regular Radio Program award at the Migration Advocacy and Media Awards from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas.
Sayson, founder and CEO of the station, was recognized as a TOFA honoree in 2024 in Honolulu for his work in media and community advocacy. The station also served as a media partner during the TOFA Awards held in Las Vegas in 2025.
PHLV Radio has been featured on local television and radio outlets in Nevada and has played a role in promoting Filipino identity and visibility in the region. Sayson was also involved in efforts to establish Las Vegas’ designated Filipinotown.
“Honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” Sayson said, adding that the award affirms the importance of advocacy and service in immigrant communities.
The station is available through its website, mobile app and streaming platforms.
