Filipino-American pharmacist and entrepreneur Ruth Avegail “Avvy” Capapas is drawing international attention again after her product, Bebot Simple Soap, was named a Best Buy winner at the 2026 Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards in London.
The recognition comes after Bebot Simple Soap won the 2026 Green Product Award in Berlin earlier this year, giving the Mississippi-based product two international honors tied to its plant-based formulation and sustainability focus.
Capapas, founder of AVEG Botanicals LLC, said the soap was inspired by the simplicity and resourcefulness she grew up with in the Philippines.
“These awards are deeply meaningful because they recognize that sustainability doesn’t always require complicated solutions,” she told TOFA NEWS. “Sometimes the most meaningful innovation is making everyday life simpler.”
According to the Green Product Award, Bebot Simple Soap is a 100% plant-based bathing soap formulated to neutralize body odor without deodorants containing heavy metal salts. The product is also described as patent-pending and packaged plastic-free in a sisal bag.
The Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards presents the Best Buy distinction as a top recommendation within its category, adding another layer of recognition to the product’s growing profile in natural personal care.
Capapas said the recognition also reflects Filipino values that shaped her approach to product development.
She said the soap grew out of a personal effort to address her own skin concerns and has since become part of a broader effort to offer a practical, environmentally conscious alternative in everyday personal care.
Bebot Simple Soap is marketed as a Filipino-inspired cleansing bar made with simple plant ingredients and designed to simplify daily routines while reducing plastic waste.
