Four years after sharing a New York Fashion Week milestone, Filipino designers Michael Cinco and Alexis Monsanto are returning to the runway together for an Art Hearts Fashion showcase on Sept. 12.

The presentation marks their second New York Fashion Week collaboration through Art Hearts Fashion. It also brings the designers back to the platform where Cinco made his first NYFW appearance in 2022, presenting his “Impalpable Dream” collection.

That 2022 Fashion Week appearance was also a landmark moment for The Outstanding Filipino Awards, or TOFA. Cinco received the TOFA2022 Global Award for Fashion, recognizing his international impact as a Filipino couturier.

This year’s Art Hearts Fashion runway showcase is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Angel Orensanz Foundation, 172 Norfolk St. It is part of the producer’s New York Fashion Week programming, which runs Sept. 10-13.

Cinco, a Dubai-based Filipino couturier, is known for dramatic gowns, elaborate embellishment and red-carpet couture. Monsanto, a Los Angeles-based Filipino designer, brings a design perspective shaped by polished silhouettes, theatrical presentation and fashion storytelling.

Together, their return carries a full-circle feeling: a reunion of two Filipino creatives who previously brought their work to the Art Hearts Fashion runway during a pivotal 2022 New York Fashion Week season.

The following evening, Cinco and Monsanto will join the TOFA Masterclass: Filipino Fashion Visionaries at The Triad Theater in Manhattan. The program is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 13 and will also feature fashion designer Josie Natori.

Art Hearts Fashion describes itself as an international runway-production platform that showcases established, independent and emerging designers in fashion markets including New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Las Vegas.
