New Yorkers will have a chance to buy discounted tickets to this year’s US Open beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, under a new partnership between Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and the United States Tennis Association.
The program will make 1,000 tickets available for US Open Main Draw matches on a first-come, first-served basis. Eligible New York City residents may purchase up to two tickets at $100 each through the USTA’s NYC ticket portal.
The tickets are valid for Main Draw sessions from Aug. 30 through Sept. 8. They include seating in Arthur Ashe Stadium or Louis Armstrong Stadium and access to the grounds at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park.
“This summer, we have shown again and again that sports belong to the people,” Mamdani said in a statement. “If the world’s best tennis players are coming to our city, New Yorkers should be able to see them play.”
USTA CEO Craig Tiley said the ticket offer would help more city residents experience the tournament.
“We want as many people as possible to experience tennis and the US Open, and this additional Main Draw ticket access for New Yorkers only strengthens that commitment,” Tiley said.
The USTA also offers eight days of free Fan Week grounds admission, allowing visitors to watch player practices, qualifying matches and mixed-doubles competition.
The US Open drew nearly 1.2 million attendees in 2025, according to the USTA. The organization said the tournament generates more than $1.2 billion in annual economic impact and employs more than 7,000 people each year.
The ticket offer is part of the Mamdani administration’s effort to expand access to major sporting events. City Hall cited previous initiatives involving FIFA World Cup matches, Gotham FC games, USA Track & Field championships and Knicks events.
