Filipino fashion designer Puey Quiñones is giving the ASEAN Tech Summit Manila 2026 a distinctly Filipino fashion moment, unveiling a bespoke Modern Filipiniana collection created in collaboration with FinTech Alliance.PH. The internationally acclaimed designer, who divides his time between Manila and Los Angeles, was tapped to dress the alliance’s board of trustees for the summit’s opening ceremonies, showcasing pieces that fuse heritage with a future-forward tech aesthetic.
The collection will debut July 28 at the Manila Marriott Grand Ballroom, with silhouettes and details inspired by traditional garments like the terno and barong, reimagined for executives and innovators operating on a global stage. The collaboration underscores Quiñones’ growing footprint in cross-industry partnerships that put Filipino culture at the center of high-profile international events.
Quiñones recently expanded his presence in the United States with the launch of his couture atelier in downtown Los Angeles, where he now stages intimate shows and consultations alongside his Manila operations. His Puey Quiñones Atelier and Q Bridal lines, including a dedicated bridal shop in L.A., serve a growing roster of global clients seeking custom couture and highly personalized wedding gowns.
Known for designs that blend traditional Filipino textiles and techniques with Old Hollywood glamour, he frequently features indigenous fabrics such as abaca, piña, and sinamay in sculptural, red-carpet-ready silhouettes. His pieces have appeared on major covers and carpets, including dressing actors and personalities for events like the MEGA Ball and high-profile Asian American galas.
Born and raised in Bobon, Northern Samar, Quiñones built a career that has taken him from Manila’s fashion scene to international runways and museums. He is the only Filipino designer known to have a couture dress acquired by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art as part of its collection.
Quiñones has spoken publicly about navigating professional setbacks and personal struggles earlier in his career, channeling those experiences into a renewed focus on purpose-driven work and mentorship. Today, his trajectory reflects a comeback story of resilience — one that now includes global collaborations, museum recognition, and a bi-continental brand rooted in Filipino identity.
In 2025, Quiñones was named one of the 100 Most Influential Filipinos in the World under the TOFA100 initiative at the 15th Annual The Outstanding Filipino Awards (TOFA) in Las Vegas, honored for his impact on global fashion and Hollywood styling. At the Orleans Showroom ceremony, he not only accepted the award but also dressed fellow honorees in his signature Filipiniana-inspired couture, further cementing his role as a cultural ambassador on and off the red carpet.
