Comedian and actress Ai-Ai delas Alas and singer Dessa are teaming up for “D and Ai,” a special concert on Aug. 1 at 604 Station Road, just outside Hershey, Pennsylvania.
The show brings two beloved Filipino entertainers to one stage for a night of music, laughter, and nostalgia.
Delas Alas, long known as the Philippines’ “Comedy Queen,” shot to mainstream fame with the hit “Ang Tanging Ina” film franchise, one of the country’s most successful comedy series. She has since become a fixture in television, film, and live shows, earning multiple Box-Office Queen titles and acting awards over the years.
In recent years, she has embraced more dramatic roles and taken a seat at the judges’ table on talent competitions, adding new layers to a career built on sharp timing and heartfelt performances. Offstage and off-camera, she has often said that her proudest role is being a mother, a reminder of the grounded persona behind the spotlight.
Sharing the bill is Dessa, a powerhouse vocalist whose soaring ballads and emotional delivery have made her a favorite at Filipino community events across North America. She has brought her music to major Filipino gatherings, concerts, and galas from Las Vegas to the East Coast, steadily building a loyal following among Filipino American audiences.
Her shows often blur the line between concert and reunion, with classic hits, deep cuts, and banter that make the evening feel like a gathering of old friends. That connection has turned her into a go-to performer for community celebrations, fundraisers, and cultural festivals.
Both delas Alas and Dessa were among the honorees at the 15th The Outstanding Filipino Awards (TOFA) gala in Las Vegas last year, when 100 influential Filipinos from around the world were recognized for their work in entertainment, advocacy, business, and community leadership.
Their appearance in Grantville adds a local stop to journeys that continue to resonate with Filipinos at home and abroad.
“D and Ai” is expected to draw fans from Pennsylvania and neighboring states, offering an evening that feels part concert, part homecoming. For many in the region, it will be a rare chance to see two familiar names from Philippine showbiz up close, sharing stories, songs, and comedy that speak directly to the diaspora experience.
The show is presented by Maria D Production. For ticket reservations and event information, interested attendees may contact Alfree at 814-506-4712 or Maria Dulay at 717-992-5400.
