The Federation of Philippine American Chambers of Commerce (FPACC) will mark its 30th anniversary with a two-day international business gala and summit on Nov. 20-21 in Durham, North Carolina, in partnership with the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of North Carolina (FILAMCCNC), which is celebrating its fifth year.
The milestone event is expected to draw Filipino American business leaders, entrepreneurs, chamber members and international delegates from across the United States and abroad, highlighting the growing influence of Filipino-led enterprises and organizations.
Founded in 1996, FPACC is a national nonprofit coalition representing more than 40 Filipino American chambers of commerce nationwide. The organization has played a key role in strengthening trade relations between the United States and the Philippines, while supporting small business development, professional networking and global partnerships within the diaspora.
The host organization, FILAMCCNC, was established in 2021 to support Filipino American entrepreneurs and professionals in North Carolina through advocacy, education and economic initiatives. The chamber was founded by community leader Agnes Higley-Herman, who also serves as second executive vice president of FPACC and chair of the 2026 anniversary event.
Higley-Herman, a business owner and cultural advocate based in North Carolina, has been instrumental in promoting Filipino culture and advancing business opportunities in the region. Her leadership has helped expand the visibility of Filipino American enterprises while fostering collaboration across industries and communities.
The celebration will open with a welcome reception on Nov. 20, offering attendees an opportunity to connect and engage in cultural exchange. The following day will feature a business summit with panel discussions on leadership, entrepreneurship and economic development, followed by a formal gala and awards ceremony recognizing outstanding contributors to the Filipino American business community.
Durham Mayor Leonardo Williams and Philippine Consul General Zoilo A. Velasco are expected to attend, along with other civic and business leaders.
Organizers say the joint anniversary is both a recognition of past achievements and a platform for future growth. As Filipino American chambers continue to expand nationwide, events like this underscore their role in building economic power, supporting immigrant entrepreneurship and strengthening cross-border ties.
For many in the community, the gathering is more than a celebration, it reflects years of hard work to uplift Filipino American voices in business and leadership.
Higley-Herman is also set to be recognized for her lifetime community service at The Outstanding Filipino Awards on Oct. 24 in Jacksonville, Florida.
