JCI Queens New York will welcome a new slate of officers this month, with Andrew Sahagun set to be inducted as the organization’s 2026 president during a community celebration in Woodside.
The JCI Queens New York 2026 Presidential Induction and Executive Board Ceremony will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at Little Manila Park, at the corner of 70th Street and 41st Avenue in Woodside. Organizers said the outdoor gathering will bring together JCI members, former officers, community leaders, public officials, entrepreneurs, young professionals and supporters from across Queens and the Filipino American community. A rain date has been set for Aug. 23.
Sahagun, a Hawaiian Polynesian dancer and community-minded leader, said he hopes to create more opportunities for young professionals to strengthen their leadership skills, build meaningful connections and take an active role in their communities.
Under his administration, JCI Queens New York plans to continue supporting service projects, professional development, networking and membership initiatives. The group’s message for the year is: “Together, We Lead. Together, We Impact.”
Boogie Musni Rivera will serve as executive vice president, while Cheska Durana will take on the role of community development vice president. Carolyn Joyce P. Marticio, founder of JCI Queens New York and the chapter’s 2018 president, will serve as auditor.
Marticio, also a former New York State JCI governor, has remained involved in creating leadership and service opportunities for young people in Queens and beyond.
Sahagun and the executive board will be supported by advisers with backgrounds in community service, business, real estate, entertainment, hospitality and JCI leadership.
They include entrepreneur and caterer Fred Agcaoili; restaurateur Jeanette Torres Bocobo; registered nurse and singer Krizia Daya; actor and singer John Benevuto; real estate professional Lina Posecion; and Cecile Duyongco, a past president of JCI Manhattan.
John Sohn, a former JCI Queens president and New York State JCI governor, will serve as executive board vice president.
Clifford Robin Temprosa, an entrepreneur and social impact strategist, will host the event. Daya is also scheduled to perform during the program.
A representative from the Philippine Consulate and New York State Assemblymember Steven Raga are expected to appear as guest speakers, highlighting the chapter’s ties to local government, civic groups and the Filipino American community.
The induction ceremony will also recognize the past presidents who helped shape JCI Queens New York through the years.
Among those expected to be recognized are Marticio, Ruffy Ronas, Reagan Rada, Jed Shan, Joseph Lineses, Jrich Lacson, Donna Bantug, Sohn and Jericho Ebabacol.
Their leadership helped sustain the chapter through volunteer projects, community outreach, membership development and efforts to encourage young people to take on leadership roles.
