Filipino American media personality, recording artist and publicist MJ Racadio has reached a new milestone after Social Dragon PR was approved as a Grammy Awards media company eligible to participate in the Recording Academy’s online submission process for the 2027 Grammy Awards.
The approval marks a significant development in Racadio’s more than two-decade career in the music industry, including 21 years as a recording artist and 10 years in publicity. The designation allows Social Dragon PR to support artists navigating the Grammy submission process, a key step in awards consideration.
Racadio described the recognition as the result of years of persistence, financial investment and overcoming repeated setbacks in a competitive industry.
“After two decades in the music industry — with sacrifices, sleepless nights, and facing rejections — the Recording Academy finally approved me as part of the process,” Racadio said.
Racadio’s career spans multiple roles, including artist, publicist and media personality, with a focus on advocating for Filipino talent. His work has centered on helping artists gain visibility, build industry relationships and access international platforms.
An important turning point came in 2024, when Grammy Award winner Septimius the Great introduced Racadio to opportunities connected to the Recording Academy and the Grammy submission process. Racadio said the connection helped expand his understanding of the global music landscape and strengthened his advocacy for Filipino artists.
Since then, he has continued collaborating with music professionals and educating artists about the importance of participating in international awards platforms.
With Social Dragon PR’s new status, Racadio said the goal is to create more opportunities for Filipino recording artists, songwriters and producers to have their work presented for Grammy consideration.
“This is more than an achievement for me. It is a testament to what can happen when we open doors, build relationships and create pathways for Filipino artists to reach the global music industry,” he said.
Racadio emphasized that the milestone reflects a broader mission to bridge Filipino talent with global audiences. He has long advocated for Filipino American representation through his work in media, entertainment and music.
Racadio said he hopes the milestone encourages Filipino artists to pursue international opportunities and remain resilient despite challenges.
Social Dragon PR will now participate in the 2027 Grammy Awards submission process, supporting artists seeking recognition from the Recording Academy.
